  • Before the Hook: How Viewers Decide to Trust You in Under a Second

Creators spend a huge amount of time optimising hooks, storytelling, and retention, yet viewers often decide whether they trust someone before a word is spoken. In this session, Adrian explores how credibility and authority are formed visually, and how small on-camera choices shape perception long before content has a chance to land. Drawing on over a decade of experience using video as his primary platform, he’ll demonstrate how professional presence can be created with far less space and complexity than most creators expect. This is not a technical tutorial or gear breakdown. Instead, it’s a reframing of how audiences judge video, especially in an increasingly crowded content landscape. Attendees will leave with a fresh perspective on their own videos and a clearer understanding of what they may be communicating before the hook even begins.
